The Shady Past of the PM
August 1st 2008 09:58
A two-volume compendium on the Prime Minister’s criminal links proves Hollywood logic; good eventually comes from bad. A panty-stealer’s great-great-great-great-great -grandson becomes PM. Touching really.
What about the people who were at the top five generations ago? What has happened to the ruler’s heirs? The goodies that arrested, ruled or represented the plebs must have left some heirs. You’d think I’d have examples here rather than empty rhetoric.
BUT Colonial Officers were corruptible everywhere from Boston to Botany so that set the standard for politicians. Given their inherent corruptibility and Australia’s “No Worries” attitude it is proven that the politicians, the bastards, at state level are the ancestors of the same colonial officers that reluctantly agreed to federation. These provincials cost our economy $6m p/a.
The financial cost of sustaining a privileged, power-hungry-but-lazy, too dumb to be federal hatchet men, too smart for councils, political hierarchy is negligible next to the symbolic cost. Very mediocre; very mediocre is a concept that can’t be translated, it makes no sense but it exists in Morris Ieamma’s vacant stare, Barry O’Farrell’s supernatural press-conferences and D-Unit’s promise not to drive broken on the night of the Iguanas.
That is why we have Little Morris, with his “What happened?” face. The masochist in us allows the absurdities to continue decade after decade but the sadist enjoys the show. Celebrating Lil Aussie battlers that have a touch of Ginger Meggs, how long will he last we wonder? Crafty devil he’ll find a way.
He’ll find a way.
The shady characters without Meggsy’s ethics will find a way to exploit this Australian spirit for personal gain. The Ghost who walks O’Farrell with his policy of appearing different; his words “the only way you’re going to move a product is if it looks different.” Seems a little weird for the Ghost to refer to himself as a product that could be moved…
Maybe we should move him off the political shelf…We have too many political posts giving the incompetent and uninspiring, weak and talent-free a route to power when they should be handing out How to votes. Dismantle the Opposition. For those they represent? Too bad, maybe next time they won’t throw votes away. Always back a winner that’s how you use your vote.
